Yesterday, whilst moving horse extracted timber from Long Meadow, a Pyramidal Orchid was discovered ibn bloom. We will need to take care when mowing for our hosting the forthcoming Macbeth production. Today the Isle of Wight was obscured either sea mist or low-lying cloud.

Beside the coast path tendrils of Cleavers stood above Bracken fronds and Herb Robert flowers. Red Valerian and Mexican Daisy blooms decorated the castle walls. A Whitethroat was heard amongst the Elm cover near the sea chart. Ox Eyed Daisy flowered near the gallery along with Charlock. The amphitheatre had a good sward of Wall Barley. Wild Carrot was beside the steps to the Globe. Of the cliff tops both Guillemot and Herring Gulls were active and upon the sea.  Two Fulmar appeared to rebound off the cliff face in flight. There was Froghopper cuckoo split amongst short clifftop Blackthorn and Tamarisk growth. A Song Thrush, with a snail dangling from its beak, went into hiding near a clifftop Three Corner Leek clump. Sycamore held mini, green, chandelier-like flowers.

There was a raft of 35 Guillemot with thirty more in smaller groups. I only spotted one Razorbill upon the water. Whilst enjoying the fact that Dwarf Mallow had joined the Thrift cover, I noticed a Greater Black Backed Gull amongst leaves on the rocky face. It appeared most odd in its posture and I learnt in must had been deceased, perhaps having been knocked out by a Peregrine?

At 8:40ish it was a privileged to see a pod of eight Dolphins heading east. They were in a 2-3-3 formation a were followed by a sensibly distant boat. Amongst the breeching there were occasional leaps given full body views of the sea mammals. They then went underwater for some time only popping up for air as individuals. Fishing perhaps?

The Kestrel perched near the top ladder rung of the lowest mile marker flew off to perch on the overhead wires crossing the gully. It was another treat to find a Glow-worm basking on a slab of stone near to the Centre. Despite its articulate armour it felt rather soft.
