A brief visit to the Aviaries revealed a wealth of bird song and calls. Amongst those were Green Woodpecker, Blackbird, Great Tit, Robin, Blue Tit and Herring Gull. Both ripen and ripening fruits were available on the Cherry Laurel. Meanwhile buds were developing on Ash, Beech, Lime, Sycamore, Cherry, London Plane and Oak.

Around the Learning Centre there were plenty of Woodpigeon and Carrion Crows on the turf hunting for earth worms. Whilst the Magpies swooping flight over the tree line was graceful its scratchy cackling call was not. Our faithful did Chaffinches cheerily broadcast their songs as I passed small patches of frost and icy puddles.

I could not resist popping to the Tilly Whim entrance to discover if an Adder had ventured out and yes! Indeed our reptile slowly moved into position, spread out at present. As the cloud moved indeed the sun broke through enable basking.

Towards the sea some one hundred Guillemots huddle upon the ledge whilst another seventy rafted upon the water. Four Fulmars, one Shag, eight Rock Doves, four Greater Black Back Gulls and six Herring Gulls went about their business.

Within the lower gully two Rabbits made appearances. I believe one a group of six Greenfinch broadcast from the overhead wires. One briefly glimpsed a Blackcap at top an Ash tree. Within the scrub pairs of Long Tailed Tits and Stonechat were noted. As with elsewhere, there was plenty of Blackbirds, Robin and Great Tit activity.

On a lasting note I was reliably informed that a Firecrest can still be seen amongst the willow of Caravan Terrace.
