Not surprisingly the House Sparrow pair were seen by the Centre, both seeking food or nesting material. I heard the hum of an unseen Bumblebee and headed off through a slightly less muddy patch which was showing good tufts of fresh grass growth. Chiff Chaffs were also heard as was a Green Woodpeckers waffle from Reservoir Copse. Upon grass blades clung droplets of morning dew. Large Copse had a pair of Carrion Crows roundabout. A Field Maple was showing a few leaves but mostly protruding pairs of leaf buds. Something subtly tapped upon a tree trunk nearby.

Entering South Field, the sound of Skylark song drifted from the meadows. A Cock Pheasant emitted a call whilst the reassuring sound of an aircraft passed overhead. One Blackbird moved along the hedgerow beside the paddock, broadcasting an alarm call. It was content to watch me from a leafless Ash tree.

Entering Saxon, I heard a Song Thrush that I was not to see. It amused me to see two rings of small stone about two Orchid rosettes at Hay Rake Quarr. Plenty of Dog Violets gave welcome blue (to me) colour. Two Green Woodpeckers were heard to call, one close by. I saw said bird at the eastern hedgerow driving it beak into Meadow Ant Hills. Several clumps of Cowslips (Primroses on stilts) showed flowers in Saxon Field south facing side. A fresh Badger stool was amongst a latrine near the Hay Rake.

On the coastal ridge a good dozen Jackdaws congregated in a leafless tree. At one point a Guillemot was seen flying out from the cliffs out to sea. Two fishing vessels were demonstrating extreme self-isolation, whilst a Condor ferry left Poole. A good dozen Herring Gulls travelled east along the cliff top.

In the gully I was lucky to spot a male Bullfinch a and secretive Jay inland of the road bridge. Meanwhile, upon the overhead wires a Kestrel perched.

Back by the centre several insect burrows we upon the dried clay path possible the work of Beetles or even solitary Bees.
