The car park is buzzing with birds singing away Robins, Chaffinches, Dunnock, Chiffchaff, Great Tit, Wren and Herring Gulls in the distance. The sunshine becomes hazy, yet the air is so calm and still. Going into the Learning Centre and Field 34 a Wood Pigeon is spotted as well Common Daisies, Bulbous Buttercup, blooming white flowers from Hawthorn, Field Maple and Ash.

South Field is starting to become a field of wildflowers, yellow from Cowslips, Creeping Buttercups, Bulbous Buttercups, Dandelions, and Birds-foot Trefoil, other colours from Pale Flax and Common Vetch are widely visible, Ribwort Plantain and Yellow-rattle are spotted coming up. While walking the sounds of a Whitethroat, Skylark, Robins, Jackdaws, Great Tits, Dunnock, Chiffchaffs, Magpie and Blue Tit’s fill the field with birdsong while looking at the plants.

In Saxon, I head straight for the Quar, evidence of the Early-spider Orchids and Early-purple Orchids can be seen but they are starting to go over. That said a lot of blue from Chalk Milkwort is visible, Horseshoe Vetch provides the site with yellow, Salad Burnet and Mouse-ear Hawkweed can also be spotted, while Cowslips also appear. The sound of birds can be heard with Meadow Pipet, Chiffchaff, Greenfinch, Wren, Blackbird, Robin. Dunnock and Skylarks.

Moving on within the rest of Saxon heading towards Lighthouse field, many a large Cranefly can be spotted within the grasses and wildflowers, according to Obsidentify these are Tupula Vernails. Early-purple Orchid can still be seen proudly within the field, as well as growing Crosswort, and Lady’s Bedstraw, while a Wren, Goldcrest, and Speckled Wood butterfly are spotted.

Heading back to the Learning Centre, cuckoo spit from a Froghopper can be spotted on a growing Birds-foot Trefoil, while a Blackbird, Crow and Jackdaw are spotted.
