Walking through the carpark what looks to be a Buzzard is being mobbed by about 10 Carrion Crows. They dive bomb the bird as its tries to escape their attack. Soon the large bird disappears out of sight and the crows disperse having seen the larger bird off.
A fresh breeze whips through the park this morning, while the rising sun is particle obscured by cloud cover. I cross caravan terrace crunching through fallen Sycamore leaves as a large flock of Wood Pigeon rush past over head is perfect formation. A Grey Squirrel crouches low a branch over head watching carefully as I pass under.
Along the coast path above the Guillemot ledge a Raven dives down towards the ledge, causing 50 or so to burst of from the ledge and head out to sea. Some land of the water while others flap there wings feverishly to take them further out.
Amongst the commotion a Shag and a Great Black Backed gull soar past gracefully. Looking back at the ledge from Tilly Whim only four Guillemots remains, one showing off its winter plumage. Three fly off, leaving the last on its own.
Heading up the diagonal path the air is full of the twinkling chatter of Goldfinch flying overhead, small flocks heading in all directions. The call of a Chaffinch pulls my attention to Holm Oak where the bird flits around, calling occasional to unseen others. A flock of Linnets joins the Goldfinch as they bounce across the skyline and over the ridge. The familiar chatter of Great Tits and Robins accompanies me up the rest of the path.
