Another wonderful warm sunny morning, spreads across the park as I pass a Sycamore with several Chiffchaff callings out from its branches. Ground Ivy lines the wall along the edge of the large copse, small purple flowers catching the sunlight.

In the woodland Garlic Mustard can be seen starting to flower, small white flowers ringing the stem. Cleavers carpet the floor weaving themselves along the edges of large patches of Stinging Nettles.

Cowslips speckle taskers meadow the pale yellow adding some colour to the continuous green of the field. Towards the gate into saxon a large patch of Adders Tongue Fern can be seen the unusual leaf sticking out of the short grass. A fluttering of butterfly wings passes by before coming to rest on a short blade of grass on the path. The Speckled Wood Butterfly presents its wings to the sun to warm them, showing off the speckled pattern on its wings that gives it its name.

Birds-foot Trefoil dots the edges of the path in saxon the brighter yellow standing out form the paler yellow of the Cowslips. Another butterfly comes to sunbath on the path ahead this time a smaller Dingy Skipper.

In oxeye I pass one lone Early Spider Orchid in the middle of a patch of Cowslips. A flowering Wayfaring Tree can be seen along the path as well a Hawthorn just starting to come into flower.

Through the gate at the end of saxon I spot some purple Wild Clary coming into flower along with some Pale Flax, the long stems swaying gently in the light breeze.  Scanning the pile of rocks at the bottom of the ditch I see an Adder sunbathing just above the rocky area, the diamond pattern standing out against the rock.

At the top of light house field, the scratchy sound of a White Throat singing from the top of a nearby patch of scrub fills the air. While two Gannets sore elegantly over the top of the water out to sea.
