Sun 10 November, 2024

So, I have done the walk for the Diary today, wrote notes on my mobile and accidently knocked them off when I started writing the diary – this is why pen and paper are king because one can’t just delete a piece of paper – I am purely just doing this by memory now!
As I leave the Learning Centre I head left to check on the Herefords – They all seem rather happy eating away, bar one whom just mooed at me for no reason – I said to her “What’s up?! You have plenty of grazing to do in this field!”. Then after I checked the electric fence. All was fine.

I walk into Saxon field after checking on the cows. Here I hear and see the usual Robin, Goldfinches, and crows. I carry straight on, turn left at the end of Saxon and towards 10a. I look out to sea with it’s calming beauty – today is dull and “November’y”. In 10a I heard a Blue Tit, sore many a Magpie, as well as a blackbird. I spent some time looking out to sea, out there was a fishing boat, sailing boat and a Ghostly cargo ship!

I continue onwards down on to the field, here I spot a Herring gull, I hear more goldfinches as well as a Dunnock flying over me. I walk down through another gate passing Hawthorn, Blackthorn, Old man’s beard, Stinking Iris, Brambles and Ivy surrounding me. Then I got onto the tarmacked path and continued to the bridge where I waited a few mins. Here one could here a song of a Wren, a Chaffinch calling too, seen was a Robin, Bullfinch, Magpie, Blackbird, Crow, Great Tit, Goldfinch, Goldcrest and so much more that I noted and accidently deleted!

I had to then rush back to check the weather recordings and do this diary. On the way I spotted a Great Black-backed Gull and a shag towards the cliffs in the distance, whilst doing the weather recording a flock of Linnets was spotted. Except for losing my wildlife notes, it was a much needed beautiful walk under an overcast November sky.
