A dull overcast morning with the cloud cover slowly clearing throughout the morning. heading down to the castle to let some contractors in, I admire the Three-Cornered Leeks and Primroses flowering either side of the path down.

After letting them in I head straight down to the cliffs, it’s a hub of activity first thing in the morning. I watch four Fulmars arcing in and out of the cliffs, the tips of their wings coming so close to the cliff face you would think they make crash into it. Guillemots lazily bob on the water in a raft of approximately 30 strong. Three Shags rush in towards the bottom of the cliff with nesting material in their beaks.

Large waves of Gorse are in flower adding large splashes of yellow to the landscape. A Peregrine Falcon soars just above the cliffs patrolling the cliffs tops heading towards the castle.

On the light house green, a small patch of Daoffodils stand out like a yellow beacon amongst the dull green grass. Heading up the light house road dodging cow pats. The cows were moved yesterday and will be off sight for a few weeks now. the sound of the Skylarks singing high over the meadow’s drifts down to me on the road.

As I reach the top of the light house field the sun is just starting to burn through the cloud cover, the light dancing on the surface of the water. Two Ravens soar path down into the gully before pulling up and over the light house. Outside the learning centre two Blue Tits sing from the top of a Hawthorn bush.
