Lots of Gatekeepers Butterflies flutter over the path as I make my way towards the large copse. Stinking Iris seed pods have swelled to resemble large rugby balls.  As I enter taskers the rain starts, and I regret the choice not to bring my coat. A Rabbit runs across the path and back again a few times.

To the side of the path a Wild Carrot has a Common Red Soldier Beetle perched on top the bright red contrasting against the white flower. Knapweed, Woundwort and Agrimony add to the colour along side the path. Looking out over the neighbours’ fields I spot two Roe Deer’s grazing in their field.

In a further meadow Willow herb in full flower sticks out of the tangle of flowering Old Mans Beard and Bracken. The pink flowers contrast beautifully with the tiny white fluffy flowers of Old Mans Beard. The earthy smell of damp Bracken follows me along the path.

The cows can be heard and seen on the ridge of field six enjoying breakfast. A Buff tailed Bumblebee buzzes around the hedge row looking rather busy in its pursuit of pollen.

At the mile marker a Kestrel perches on the very top. It suddenly tasks flight circles both markers before coming to land halfway up the bottom marker.

Rather damp I head back to the learning centre where I spot some deer print in the mud, they are heading towards the centre.
