As I head towards the large copse I can hear a Green Pecker cackling from the trees. The cackle sounding like a taunt as I’m unable to locate the bird. The Blackthorn creaks as the wind blows it around. As I entre the large copse I immediately notice Lords and Ladies which have started to emerge all over the woodland floor. Some of the leaves still tightly curled up ready to open. Leaving the copse I notices a large area by the gate where the floor has been carpeted by Cleavers, Lords and Ladies flight there way through the carpet to gain some sunlight.

In the mud around the gate through to Saxon deer prints can be seen amongst all the shoe and dog prints. I weave my way through some scrub and come across a small flock of Long Tailed Tits hoping between a few patches of Blackthorn. Only one or two show themselves at a time while the others hide in the dense scrub, there chattering gives away their location.

I continue through to oxeye and along through towards the end of the sight through the various meadows accompanied by the sound of Skylarks singing high in the sky. At one point I notice a pair having arial dispute, one eventually gives up and flies off.

As I reach the end of the sight and say hello to the cows, I notice some rather unusual looking cows towards the back of the field. They were in fact three Roe Deer. They slowly meander there way along the back edge of the field. One keeping lookout while the other two enjoy a tasty snack taking it in turn to do so.

I head back towards the centre where I pass another small group of Long Tailed Tits hoping amongst some scrub. As I take the rain measurement this morning, I watch a few Blue and Great Tits fly back and forth.
