As I leave the centre the wind propels me through car park while from above come the gentle croaking of a Raven. It gets buffeted around by the wind struggling to keep to its chosen path. Heading into the woodland I’m greeted by a plump Robin singing from the top of a Bramble bush.

At the top of the dell Flag Iris shoots are starting to emerge from amongst last years brown leaves. At the front of the castle Daffodils are now in full bloom, with beautiful yellow flowers adding a splash of colour to the front of the castle.

At the bottom of the dell on the far side of the bridge a Wren flits around on ground singing. Great tits flit around chirping in the branches of a Holm Oak above my head.

As I turn the corner at the bottom of the steep path the wind starts to pick up, further along I get my first glimpse of a Fulmar unusually its flying above my heading being pushed around by the wind. A large flock of Jackdaws seem to play fight up above the tree line. I catch a glimpse of some Guillemots heading out to sea. When I get Tilly Whim and look back at the Guillemot ledge it stands completely empty, the individuals I sore early possibly being the last to leave the ledge.

Down at the bottom of the gully the waves crash into the wave cut platform while Herring Gulls pass overhead. I head up past the light house walking along the road back up to the centre. I stop at the bridge and look over the wall where I spot some Lords and Ladies starting to emerge from the ground. At the very top of the road, I head towards the rock just off the path where I had previously seen some yellow Crocuses with some volunteers a week ago. I spot the yellow flower although it’s not looking great as it once did.
