I was not expecting to write the diary this morning until the intended diarist’s sickness email was read at 8:45am! Hopefully, you will forgive by short diary as my mind had been focused upon this morning’s work party.

Fortunately, I walked in from Langton Matravers and as such enjoyed a pink / red tinged sunrise…shepherd’s warning – folklore suggests that bad weather is to follow. Indeed, strong winds and rain is unlike yesterday’s sunshine!

In field 3 I was delighted to see that the dew pond was full again. The Hereford cattle were seen in field 1 & 2 where I expected them to be. Having not taken notes, I can recall seeing the inevitable Magpies and Herring Gulls on my travels through to the country park.

As I have just been informed a second colleague is off sick, I really must make my apologies and prepare for a challenging day. I hope our Apprentice turns up soon as he is needed for the work party!

I hope you had a good Christmas reader!
