As I walk out the centre, I spot a Magpie by the bins feasting on a bread crust. I then look over the treeline towards the cliffs and spot a Peregrine Falcon hovering, it then disappears below the tree line. Next thing I know a Raven gracefully glides by quietly croaking to itself. All within two minutes of leaving the centre!

I then head down the diagonal path towards the cliff path where I spot the Peregrine again from earlier. Two Great Black Backed Gulls soar past overhead towards the lighthouse. Out to sea the sun is just starting to break through the cloud cover casting an orange glow of the water. When I get to the bottom of the hill, I head towards the tilly whim caves to get a good look at the Guillemots. About 20-30 individuals mingle around the bottom the cave, not so crowded they must use the large rock yet. Several individuals leave the cave to go hang out on the water for bit while a few more fly back up to the cave.

I back up the hill past the mile markers where Jackdaws down in the meadow gather in a tree to shout very loudly so everyone can hear. Over the racket of the Jackdaws, I can just about hear smaller birds’ song wafting up of the wind from down in the dell.

I walk through into oxeye meadow I stroll along not paying much attention to anything, when a Peregrine Falcon and what I think to be Greenfinch rush over the hedge the Peregrine in hot pursuit of the smaller bird, hallway across the field it gives up the chase and flies off. After this adrenaline fuelled couple of seconds, I think I’m done with the Peregrine based drama for the day, but while I walk through south field, I spot possibly the same individual having an argument with a Raven. It then flies off realising it may lose this battle after which it is then attacked by a passing Carrion Crow. Looking a bit defeated it then flew off down towards the cliffs. As I’m watching this drama unfold, I’m joined by a man walking in for park run who has travelled down from Salisbury, we chat for a while as I walk back to the centre for my morning cup off tea.
