As I enter the woodland at the top of the play trail were immediately a Squirrel scampers through a Holm Oak overhead. Looking out to see a Great Black Backed Gull soars past heading in the direction of the castle.
Heading down past the dell towards the cliff another Squirrel runs along the wall along side be before disappearing up a tree. Looking down into the dell from the caravan terrace bridge Fuchsia’s in flowers adds pops of colours in to the otherwise brown and green landscape.
Heading down the hill a Black Bird and a Great Tit fly past heading into Blackthorn laden with bright blue slows. They hop around the tree quite happily for a while before heading further down the hill and out of sight. Several small groups of Great Black Backed Gulls in twos and threes head from the direction of Peveril point in the direction of the light house.
Looking out towards the light house from the glass observation point I spot a familiar grey spot standing out from the rest of the cliff. A Peregrine Falcon perches of the edge of the cliff, it then spots a Collard Dove which it then pursues towards me disappearing udder the over hand of the cliff just below me.
A Shag heads out from the cliff landing on the water just out to sea in floats around a bit before disappearing under the waves. I then spot some familiar figures floating about on the water some preening and washing themselves. The figures are Guillemots I then head round to Tilly Whim cave where I can get a better view of the Guillemot cave itself. The whole of the floor of the cave seems to be filled with the birds who may have come back for a short break from being out at sea.
