The sky above a brilliant blue
Dappled sunlight casting a hazy hue
The cronk of a Raven, acrobatic in flight
Served up the mornings first delight
Chill and crisp, a bite to the air
The sharp breeze nibbling, ruffling my hair
Chattering Blackbirds scratching around
Searching for fat worms in the wet muddy ground
Robins sing sweetly from high thorny perches
Complex chords spiralling, merges
Wind rattling through thin and bare branches
Clattering together in late autumn dances
Swooping down through the downlands
Gusts gaining speed as the landscape expands
Crows, Goldfinches, Blue Tits, and more
Herring Gulls spread wings ready to soar
Rich brown dried Bracken bound up in Bramble
From in its depths a Wrens sharp call rambles
Pausing to breath deeply, a small moment of zen
My morning reflections draw to an end.
