The wildlife garden hedge had grown to a sufficient height that it meant there would be little need to replace the missing wind damaged fence panels. About the fence line were ground Elder and Bittersweet with the later showing one flower. Nearby one solitary white Blackberry flower showed on the vast clump. Where Bramble met the path side Horseshoe Vetch bloomed yellow. A Magpie flew over South Field as I pondered over the scorched leaf tips of a Field Maple. Such wind scorching, I found in the Large Copse and meadows even on a knee-high Hawthorn.

South Field had a bounty of Frogger Hopper “cuckoo spit” as well as a few Pale Flax flowers out. Whilst Hawthorn still blossomed, I found small sloes had developed upon Blackthorn near the gate into Saxon. From the Small Copse came the sounds of two Carrion Crows. Two pairs of joggers passed me as I viewed Tufted Vetch tendrils and flowers. Beside the hay rake quarr a Buff tailed Bumble Bee basked upon the ground in the sun. Chalk Milkwort and Birdsfoot Trefoil bloomed upon the thin soils nearby. Somewhere else was a Herring Gull mewing. Both Skylarks and Craneflies emerged from the tall grass. In places the Tor Grass growth had started to hide Anthills. A lone Jackdaw flew inland and latter back towards the sea. It had been less successful than the Carrion Crow carrying a hunk of bread had been. Chaffinch, Whitethroat, Chiff Chaff and Blackbird all broadcasted songs or calls. A single Hawks bit flower captivated me as along with its bracts, it was so mathematically precise in design. A pair of Pill Bugs were curved about a Rabbit dropping which they were nibbling at. There was a lovely show of cloud like Crosswort flowers in the north west corner of Saxon. Fleabane leaves indicated damp patches amongst the meadow.

Underneath the cover of the Large Copse a few patches of Bluebells flowered. There were many Ash saplings competing for space on the ground. I head feint hollow tapping which indicated a Greater Spotted Woodpecker was seeking out beetle larvae upon a dead limb on a tree. Outside a Green Woodpecker called. I was surprised to see a single Early Purple Orchid stem flowering in the woodland. I saw my first Yellow Rattle flowers of the year in Boys Brigade. Near the bungalow a Wild Gladioli had one flower open. Back at the learning centre a Swallow perched and chattered upon an aerial.
