To the cliffs to watch the Guillemots, a wonderful array of these fantastic seabirds, stuffed on the ledges, hundreds to be seen, the constantly flickering movement producing a black and white wave.

Down on the water 11 Razorbills, mostly (but not all!) in pairs and these tapping their bills together.

A whistling call alerted me to the two Oystercatchers which were heading west, the long orange beak easily seen, once I knew they were present!

Overhead 3 Cormorants, the white patch under the wings showing as they moved high over land, while Shags flew lower skimming the water.

From the top of the milepost a Raven croaked, while skitting across the downland 2 Meadow Pipits, much browner than the Rock Pipits which were perched on the tumble of rocks of Tilly Whim.

Moving through the gully, were 2 powder puff rumps, the large dirty white patch of fur belonging to two Roe Deer

Clambering up the Field Maple and bounding along the small branches a couple of Grey Squirrels. Further down the path another of these tree rats in amongst the beautiful pale pink blossom of Cherry Plum.

Other mammals indicating their presence were Rabbits, these increasingly scarce creatures were not seen but a few patches of their scat (poo) were, as were piles of Badger poo in the latrines.

In the distance the sound of a Great Spotted Woodpecker drumming, as a Green Woodpecker cackled loudly as it flew, in an undulating flight path, across the sky.

High above Skylarks singing madly, and on the Hawthorn, whose leaves were close to bursting, was a Robin and a Dunnock both in full voice.
