Catkins dangled from the Silver Birch beside the car park, whilst the wind had detached several Sycamore flowers from the tree. The wind blew up thorough the Dell as waves rolled into Durlston Bay. Leaves had emerged upon Elms beside the timeline. From the observation point a Great Black Back Gull and Herring were seen on the cliff face to be joined by an incoming Rock Dove. Two Fulmars were seen one of which flew at coast path level and went west along the cliff face. At least three Shag were seen in flight departing from the cliff base. Conditions appeared favourable for Gannet viewing. However, initially only one arrived from the left, later another three then a group of seven finally observed off Anvil Point.

Thrift and Sea Campion decorated the cliff tops. Kidney Vetch flowers were prevalent from Tilly Whim to below the Lighthouse. Charlock flowered near the Dolphin Watch Hut. Sea Beet showed its green fractal like flowers. Waves crashed below Tilly Whim wave cut platform and sent spray and pieces of dismembered Seaweed onto the rocky surface. On the water were at least three Razorbills and thirty odd Guillemot.

Upon Lighthouse Green Wild Gladioli buds showed hints of red / purple petals to come. Meanwhile, the Early Spider Orchids upon the green had gone over whilst upon the lower reaches of the Gully slope they still held flowers along with Early Purple Orchids. Bird’s foot trefoil was flowering on the thin soils around the gully rock face. Male Stonechats were seen and heard upon the gully slopes. It was a surprise to find a Badger latrine just west of the measured mile markers. Seven Swallows flew above the overhead power lines.  On the roadside, not far from the demonstration quarr, the leaf whorls of Yellow / Common Toadflax.
