A very dull morning weather wise, with a grey carpet of cloud meeting the grey sea, making little difference between the two.

The water near the cliffs spotted with a rash of Guillemots, these black and white birds bobbing in the water, many turning over and over as they tumbled and turned as the washed and cleaned their feathers.

In amongst these groups were a couple of winter plumaged birds, whose faces are much whiter making their bills look longer, it is surprising what the effects of colours can be.

Also bobbing on the water, in the middle of these groups was a Razorbill, the first I have seen back by the cliffs since the summer.

On the cliffs the Guillemots were packed onto the ledge, the sound of their gargling wafting up towards me as I stood on the cliff path.

At sea passing in a westward direction was a single Scoter, followed a little later by 4 Red-throated Divers flapping across the water.

A Peregrine Falcon was soaring around in large circles, a wonderful sight as the chunky powerful bird flapped and glided around, the pale grey back easy to spot.

Also soaring around was a Fulmar, another bird returned to the cliffs after being away for the autumn, the thin wings making control amazing as it skimmed so close to the cliffs.
