A brown blur hurries across south field, as I head through the gate, turning it reveals its white fluffy tail, like a flag trailing behind the Rabbit. Heading to the large patch of scrub in the middle field it joined by another, before they both notice me coming and scurry back into the safety of the scrub.
Autumn ladies Tresses seem to have gone over, as I’m only able to spot one little orchid. Quite small compared to the others a few days ago, though still sporting a beautiful display of white flowers.
The woosh of wings overhead as a Swallow zooms path overhead. Heading out into the top of ten where the cows now have access to the northside of the top path. The cows themselves haven’t noticed their new extension, but can be seen just inside 6, mooing loudly to each other.
Up on to the ridge in 10, looking out over the gully a Roe Deer can be seen on the far side in the light house field. Very orange in colour it stands out in the landscape. It’s adorned with quite an impressive set of antlers. More Swallows and Sand Martins dance around overhead, pouring in from the north and heading south on their journey back to there over winter land.
Fluffy Old Mans Beard spills out over the top of the scrub above the light house bridge. A Blackcap making a brief appearance onto of the Old Mans beard before disappearing. The near constant calls of Chiffchaff fill the air one of them making an appearance in the Sycamore above my head. The small green/brown bird with distinctive yellow line through its eye coming out to the end of the branch to make it easy to see.
Jackdaws crowd onto the top of the bottom mile marker, the sound of there loud argument can be heard from the light house road. A small flock of Meadow Pipits bounce across the skyline line in perfect synchronised moves.
