Another bright sunny morning continues to bake the park, though a cool easterly breeze cuts through the heat of the sun. passing through the picnic area where the ground in full of large cracks from the recent baking it received. Short Wild Carrot can be seen in full bloom across the area, not seemingly suffering to much with the lack of rain.
Buddleia fronds whip back and forth in the wind, currently lacking any butterflies this morning due to the wind. Heading down the steep hill the wind starts to pick up whipping Tamarisk fronds back and forth violently. Until heading round the corner where the wind eased up a bit. Below the globe a large path of Bristly Oxtongue can be seen in full bloom. While beside it, Old Mans Beard smothers its Blackthorn climbing frame. The vine now covered in creamy white fluffy flowers.
More Old Man’s Beard scrambles over the cliff wall, desperate to take over the path. Rock Samphire grows out of the cracks in the dry-stone wall along the edge of the path.
At the glass observation point two photographers with some very serious looking cameras, report having seen a Peregrine Falcon with some its young. Below a Shag ducks and dive in water cleaning in plumage. Further along the path a Greater Knapweed is housing a Lulworth Skipper.
Back up the hill into the shade of the woodland, where Stinking Iris have swelling rugby ball shaped seed pods where the flowers used to be. Bramble flowers are now slowing being replaced with small to be black berries.
