A beautiful sunny morning spreads out across the park this morning as I make my way down long meadow. Pale Flax sways gently in the breeze as it stands above the surrounding grass. The tall thin stems with a pale blue flower atop turned towards the sun Poca dot the whole meadow. the pompom like flowers from a Red Clover also poke out the grass in the shorter areas. Above Hawthorn is in full bloom, smothered in small white flowers. A Horse Chestnut is also covered in candles covered in small white flowers, though they seem to be just starting to go over.
In the woodland a Holly Blue Butterfly flutters across the path and out of sight. In the trees a Blue Tit flit amongst the branches of a Holm Oak that keeps dropping leaves on to the path.
Down in the dell Fushia is starting to come into flower the deep red tear drops flowers only just starting to open. On caravan terrace a couple of pale-yellow Primrose can still be seen in flowers though they are looking a bit worse for wear now. Nearby a Germander Speedwell is in flowers the small pale blue flowers, covering vine like stems.
Down to the observation point where Guillemots are pouring out of the ledge below, some crash into the water below while the majority head out to sea in pursuit of food. Fulmars swoop gracefully in and out of the cliff top, one comes to land on a ledge just below the glass observation point. It tucks itself under the cliff ledge so only its tail feathers are sticking out.
A Raven patrols the cliff tops where it’s attacked by a passing Herring Gull and then two Carrion Crows also join in the fight, taking it in turns to dive bomb the Raven. It eventually escapes its attacked and comes to land on a cliff ledge.
At the top of the light house field Horse-shoe Vetch has burst into flower everywhere creating pops of yellow throughout the meadow. A Red-tailed Bumblebee lands on a flower to feed the bright red tail on full display.
