Long Tailed Tits fly past overhead as I get out of the car this morning, coming to land in the Hawthorn in front of the Learning Centre. A Song Thrush calls out from the copse of trees behind the car park.
Heading back out through the car park Goldfinch bob past overhead, coming to rest in an Ash Tree.
Down on the caravan terrace, Primrose are in full bloom throughout the grass. Lesser Celandine flowerheads are tightly furled up, ready and waiting for the sun to make an appearance. Small purple Violets pop up in the shorter turf around the Primroses.
Heading down the steep path, Chiffchaff call out from the tops of Sycamore, flashes of light green occasionally spotted through the branches as they flit around. On the hill up towards the Globe, pale purple Periwinkle is in full bloom, adding some colour to the green canvas.
A large loose raft of Guillemots bob about on the calm water below the cliffs, the sound of them preening themselves in the water floating up on the light breeze. Further along a lone Razorbill sits on a ledge towards the top of the cliff, having a good stretch. The Guillemot ledge is packed this morning, everyone pilling into the small space.
Up past the Lighthouse, Early Spider Orchids can be seen coming into flower, only standing about 1cm tall above the ground in the short turf. Meadow Pipits bob across the top of the Lighthouse green, coming to land in a Tamarisk.
