A bright sunny morning with clear blue skies, the sun warming up the cold morning. Heading down to The Dell, which is bathed in sunlight, my eyes are immediately drawn to Goldfinch flying in form over the castle and landing in a Holm Oak. Chiffchaff hop around the lower branches of the same Holm Oak, the sun illuminating their green backs. The rasping calls of Great Tits fill the air punctuated by Dunnocks and Robins also calling. Primroses are in full bloom on the caravan terrace their pastel yellow flowers standing out in the green grass.

Heading round Durlston Head a Shag can be seen on the water preening itself occasionally ducking under the water to clean its feathers. A Great Black Backed Gull silently sores past patrolling the tops of the cliffs. Guillemots and Razor Bills are noted by there absence this morning.

A lone Fulmar swoops in and out the cliffs edge mottled grey back making it standout against passing Herring Gulls. Two Herring Gulls have tucked themselves into a small ledge on the cliffs. Further along the past a Kestrel is perched atop a Tamarisk, before spoking and soaring past along the top of the cliff, giving me a chance to look down on it at is chestnut speckled back.

With eyes open for basking reptiles as I head up the diagonal path, though no luck spotting any, prehab’s not quite hot enough yet. Two Dunnocks zoom past one chasing the other. They swop over the top of the Gorse smothered in bright yellow flowers
