Start the day headed down to the Diagonal path within the Holm Oaks and amongst the Stinking Iris, Lords and Ladies are continuing to grow in great numbers. As I walk on, a Wood Pigeon is heard as well as many a Robin, Chiffchaff, Blue Tits, Wren, Firecrest, Blackcap, and a Great Tit. Towards the end and near the more open space of scrub, Daffodils light up the woodland in a tad of yellow. In the Gorse, Blackthorn, Hawthorn and Old-mans beard scrub a Dunnock and Chaffinch are seen whilst Crows are on top of the Tamarisk further down below.

Down on Tilly Whim the sea looks very calm, with the fresh northerly breeze coming through. Whilst I look down Tilly Whim where Grey Seals can often be spotted (not today) a Kestrel comes flying in front of me and lands on top of the cliffside, I try to take a picture of it but as I get my mobile out it flies off most likely hunting for food.

Walking further onwards 2x Great Black-backed Gulls are seen flying beside the cliff, as well as many a Shag. I take my binoculars to investigate the Guillemot cliffs – but no Guillemots could be spotted here. However, there are many seabirds sat on the English Channel. The first lot were around 24 individuals of just Razorbills whilst the second group was around 40 individuals of seabirds, 39 Razorbills and just 1 lonely Guillemot (not sure where the others are!), as I count the second group a Raven can be heard calling away. Other species spotted here were Herring Gulls, many Jackdaws and a few Fulmars gliding in and out of the cliffs.

Heading back to the Learning Centre, spotted was a Magpie in Holm Oak, the end of a Red-cage Fungus in the Timeline, Primroses and Green Alkanet along the path between the castle and car park.
