Starting the walk, again the Song Thrush is heard singing away with its different tones, Robins, a Rook and Wood Pigeons are present. Walking towards the Pleasure Ground Woodland Great Tits are seen and heard along the hedgerow of Brambles, Dogwood, Blackthorn and Hawthorn.

Within the woodland, Holm Oaks shades the ground where Stinking Iris and Mosses are spotted. Long-tailed Tit is heard, whilst vegetation of Wild Privet, Black Pine, Buddleia, and saplings of Elm are seen. Spotting the Castle I take the Clifftop Trail, Nettles are spotted as a Wren passes me, I see Hart’s tongue Fern and Bracken as Goldfinches fly above me. Old-mans beard is in front of a leafless Sycamore as Cormorant’s are sitting on Durlston Bay likely fishing.

Passing the globe a Herring Gull passes above me, Rock Samphire is seen growing on the Dry-stone Wall as Tamarisk is noted blocking the view of the English Channel. Stopping at the viewpoint, four plus Fulmar are seen dancing in and out of the clifftop, as Guillemots are well spotted too. As I walk on, four Greater Black-backed Gull are flying over stretching away, seemingly trying to scare off two Jackdaws. As this was happening a Shag is seen on the sea.

Walking onward past the viewpoint, a Kestrel is seen above as more Jackdaws are seen flying around. A flock of Pigeons almost fly into me as a Shag and Cormorant is sitting on the sea below. I walk to view the sea from the bottom of the gully and Tilly Whim – It is wavy as spray is seen splashing the cliffs.

Heading back and taking the diagonal path, I notice Common Daisy’s – crazy for mid-December! As, a Raven is seen, Crows make noise, a Goldcrest spotted amongst Gorse.

If your out on the Coastal Path, keep an eye out for Peregrine Falcons, two were seen yesterday along the coast throughout the day. Personally, I saw one scare of two Ravens whilst on the South West Coast Path.
