A beautiful sunny morning, with a light frost still clinging to the grass along the more sheltered edges of the path. A Song Thrush belts out an ever-changing tune from the top of a bare Ash Tree, the brown bird perched on the very top of a thin branch.
Heading into the light house field I’m greeted by a Hereford cow peacefully grazing at the top of the slope a Magpie pecking bugs out of her fur along her back. More cows can be seen at the bottom of the gully grazing with a couple of the young ones chasing each other around a very idyllic view.
Below the light house bridge a Goldcrest flit amongst the bare branches of a Hawthorn. Gold “crest” catching the bright morning sun making the small bird easy to spot. Though unseen the call of a Chiffchaff can be heard from below the bridge. Blue Tits burst from the bushes whiz past and disappear again below the bridge.
Admiring the sunrise as I head round the light house, two Great Black Backed Gulls soar past silently. While a Rock Pipit hops along the rocky path ahead.
Along the edge of the Tilly Whim stairs a Sea Aster can be seen in flower the pale purple flowers standing out against the dull grey rock. A Shag flies across the top of the clam sea below the cliffs while a Raven loudly announces its presence overhead as its passes by. Heading back up the diagonal path spotting some bright yellow Gorse flowers starting to appear on a patch of Gorse. A Kestrel swoops past expertly flying between two Holm Oaks growing very close together and out of sight.
A dog passes under a clump of Sycamore causing approximately 4 Jays to start calling in alarm the loud cackling calls filling the air. Great Tits carry on with their business unfazed by the dog’s morning walkies, happening below.
