Got out into the car park, where the first thing I hear is a Song Thrush with it’s unique changing sounds, also spotted Magpie, Wood Pigeon, Robins, Great Tit, and a small bit of white can be spotted from the flowers of a frost-bitten Yarrow. I go into the bird hide, as again I forget my binoculars, here the pond is frozen, many blackbirds are seen as a Mistle Thrush is seen on top of a Blackthorn bush. Moving on, I walk around the Learning Centre as Goldfinches are heard above me, surrounding me are hedgerows of Blackthorn with Sloes still, red berries from Stinking Iris, and leaves under a leafless Sycamore.

Into the woodland, two Grey Squirrels are seen as the Song Thrush continues to sing away. Jackdaws are above the Holm Oaks, and leafless Ash. A Wren flies in front of me, Sycamore, Magpies seen as Harts-tongue Fern and Ground Ivy dominate the floor.

Walking the Diagonal path the view of the calm English Channel and the sun rising from it is stunning, as several Great Tits are seen and heard in the scrub of Blackthorn, Hawthorn, Brambles and Holly Oaks. Singing from Collared Doves and Wood Pigeons, as well as Blue Tits to the left of me. Robins and Magpies are also spotted. Walking on, a couple of Ravens are communicating with each other, one on one of the Mile Towers and the other flying around.

Down on the Clifftops and past the diagonal path, a Water Pipit is spotted amongst the Thrift, Golden Samphire, Rock Samphire and Sea Aster. Cormorants are seen flying out at sea, on the sea around 60 Guillemots are floating with their winter plumage. Whilst watching them with my binos a Fulmar was spotted too.

Other species spotted on the way: Herring Gulls, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Shags on bottom cliffs, Goldcrests, Tamarisk, Buddleia, and Hard Shield-Ferns/Soft Shield-ferns.
