I start in the bird hide to pick up binoculars. Here I see Blue Tits, Chaffinches, and a Great Tit eating of the bird feeder in front of the small pond. Above the Goldfinches and Linnets are loud above, whilst a Wood Pigeon flies out scaring the small garden birds away into some scrub. In the near distance, I hear a couple of Robins – one singing away, the other calling. Walking out of the bird hide and around the Learning Centre, amongst the Goldfinches and Linnets above, a Wren can be heard singing away close by, whilst sloes are still observed walking past the now leafless Blackthorn.

In Lighthouse Field it is noted that there is a brisk wind, not overly cold for November with its southerly flow, but perhaps with a bit of a chill – still, I’m only wearing a shirt and a jacket on my top, so little for this time of year with the non-existent November frosts! Jackdaws can be heard amongst the psithurism, pockets of Old-mans beard, Brambles and European Gorse dot the field. Red Berries from Stinking Iris is seen poking out of more Blackthorn, as a Kestrel Hovers high above 2x Crows. This Kestrel plumets towards the ground to then hover a little longer at a lower hight, to dive down again – where hopefully it grabs some grub.

Reaching the gully bridge, it’s a more sheltered habitat. As I stop I hear a Meadow Pipet about somewhere, I spot at least 7 Jackdaws on a Sycamore tree, as a Rook with it’s lighter beak compared to the Crow above me. A Robin calls, a Long-tailed Tit sings, whilst a Raven is heard in the distance.

Moving on, I notice a flock of birds out to sea – I found it difficult to ID them, especially as a low lying RNLI Helicopter passes above me, this later turns around and comes back on itself, with 2x Shags flying away as it does.

Up past Tilly Whim, it’s evident that the Guillemots are back again roosting in there non-breeding plumage. Above me is many a Corvid, mostly Jackdaws and Crows it seems.

Have a great Sunday.
