A beautiful still autumn morning falls over the park, a glistening due coats the grass under foot, as I make my way through the car park. Heading into the woodland a Speckled Wood Butterfly flutters across the path coming to land on the gravel just ahead, spreading it wings.

Down in Durlston Bay the water is calm, the sound of it lightly lapping against the shore drifting up. Above House Martins and Swallows dart around in all directions.

A Red Admiral Butterfly flies across the path coming to land on a Tamarisk, the bright sun illuminating its wings. The bright red striking against the dark black of the rest of the wing. Fluffy pink flowers adorn the ends of long Tamarisk branches.

Passing a large patch of scrub covered in flowering Ivy and Bramble covered blackberries, a large flock of Chiffchaff bounce around the tangle of branches. More fly past overhead bouncing across the skyline disappearing over the hill.

Obviously, a good morning for butterfly’s a Small White Butterfly lands on some Bramble ahead, again basking in the warm morning sun. Showing off the two black dots on its bright white wings beautifully.

The sky is alive with flocks of twittering Goldfinch, bouncing Chiffchaff, House Martins and Swallows. They all dart in different directions their different songs forming a beautiful song. Below a Shag preens itself on a lower ledge, stretching out its large wings to get into all the nooks and crannies.

Heading up the diagonal path more Chiffchaff can be seen as well as a Chaffinch. They are also joined by Blue Tits and Great Tits flitting about Holm Oak branches.
