A bright breezy morning with the perfect walking temperature. Heading along Long Meadow with wonderful views of Old Harry Rocks and Poole beyond that. The hedge row is stuffed with berries, Blackberries, Slows and Haw berries smothering the branches. Passing a Dog Wood covered in small dark almost black berries, the leaves are just starting to turn a wonderful purple / red shade. A Horse Chestnut Tree leaves is also starting to brown, with conkers hanging from its branches.
A lone Gate Keeper Butterfly clings to a blade of grass swaying in the breeze. Swallows swoop across the top of the meadow in all direction.
A Painted Lady Butterfly zooms past blown across the path down into the dell. Down in the dell small pops of red from a Fushia in flower breaks through the green blanket. The verges are bright green with new grass starting to come through after the last weeks rain.
Tamarisk sways gently in in the breeze, some adorned with pale pink fluffy flowers. Further round the coast path I bump into two of our Roaming Rangers litter picking along the coast path before park run come through this morning. Two Shags silently sore past along the tops of the cliffs.
At the top of the light house field, more Swallows can be seen dancing around in all directions, in pursuit of a good meal before making the long journey back over the sea to Africa. A Kestrel hovers over the top of the gully before diving down and out of sight. Two Ravens perch atop the top mile markers, that creek in the wind.
