Ragwort sways in the mornings breeze poking out of tall dry grass. More cracks have appeared in the dry ground along the path. Wild parsnip can be seen, topped with dry seed heads waiting to be dispersed. Wild Carrots can be seen still in full bloom while others have gone to seed curling in of themselves.

Red Bartsia and Red Clover creep along the edge of the path while above Oldman’s Beard smothers the tree it using as a climbing frame. Fluffy seed heads covering the vines.

Looking around the hay rake quar, I spot an Autumn Ladies Tresses, the last of the years Orchids to flower, tiny delicate white flowers spiralling up the short stem. Once I spot one more seem to loom in to focus all around.

Towards the back of the quar a Hawthorn can be seen smothered in bright red berries. A rose sags in front of it tops of its long spindly branches adorned with plump rose hips. Along the edge of the path Birds Foot Trefoil peeks out of the grass the bright yellow flower adding a splash of sunshine to the verges. A lone Field Scabious pokes out the side of a patch of Blackthorn, the pale purple flower standing out against the dark green of the Blackthorn leaves.

Across the sleeper bridge up the hill, picking blackberries as I head up the hill. A Kestrel perches on the wall at the bottom of the field before spoking and flying up to sit atop a near by Sycamore.
