A breezy overcast morning falls over the park as I make my way to the woodland. Yarrow pokes through cracks in the concreate along the edges of the path heading through the carpark. Teasel sticks out of the dry grass, the seed heads also starting to dry out and turn brown.

Over the wall Willow Herb sways gently in the breeze, the bright pink flower spoking up over the wall. Behind the Willow Herb, Fleabane thrives in the shorter turf, bright yellow flowers turned to the slither of sunlight poking through the cloud cover. As plants fight for small Ragwort flops over the top of the wall, yellow flower laden head sagging.

Down the steep slope to Durlston Head a Robin hopes along the wall while a Dunnock hops along the wall the opposite side of the path. Overhead a Peregrine Falcon soars past, grey plumage almost completely blending into the grey cloud cover.

Old Mans Beard clambers over walls and up trees, some bits still covered in tiny white flowers, while most are now showing their name’s sake, covered in fluffy white seed heads. Pale purple Sea Aster flowers poke out of large clump of Tamarisk, the flowers adding a lovely pop of colour to the area.

Two Ravens patrol along the tops of the cliff two squawking Herring Gulls in hot pursuit behind them. The Ravens duck down and out of sight as the Herring Gulls hurry on past. A Rock Pipit lets me get within 1.5 meters before flying off further down the path, it repeats this process 3 or 4 times before disappearing out of sight.

Up light house road a Bloody Nosed Beetle meanders across the path, causing me to dance past it as to not step on it. A Sycamore’s branches are smothered in helicopter like seeds waiting to be taken by the wind and dispersed across the park.
