The weather is much better than my last diary and with last nights thunderstorm the air is fresher than yesterday. Within the Learning Centre, and nearby field I hear a Chiffchaff and Wood Pigeon, as I spot a Magpie and Jackdaw within the nearby field and a sudden screech from a Jay.

In South Field a Crow is seen as a Wren sings away and the Skylarks songs start to be heard. As I pass an ant hill on the right of me, created by the Yellow Meadow Ants, I start looking around at the wildflowers growing within the field. The flora species I found were Ox-eye Daisies, White Clover, Red Clover, Birds-foot Trefoil, Yellow Rattle, Buttercup species, Rough Hawkbit, Hop Trefoil, Red Barista, Flax, Common Spotted Orchid, and one orchid much pointier and pinker than the others – this is Pyramidal Orchid. As I leave South Field and go into Saxon, the sound of a Dunnock can be heard.

As I go into Saxon, I head straight into the old pit with an ancient rotavator, instantly I spot a Rabbit in front of scrub – it runs away as it spots me! I look onto the ground again, I find other flora species such as Kidney Vetch (passing its bloom time it seems), Milkwort, Wild Thyme, Selfheal, Ridged Eyebright, and Yellow Wort, amongst others. As I walk on a Pheasant can be heard in the distance, and I spot 2x Six-spotted Burnet Moths on Greater Knapweed. A Whitethroat is spotted as a Song Thrush can be heard in the far distance (possibly in the gully area below a bridge in Lighthouse Field), and the sound of either Bush Crickets or Grasshoppers can, or both, can be just about made out amongst the wind.

Passing the Holm Oak Copse to the left of me and passing a gate, I head into Lighthouse Field. Here the Beautiful tranquil turquoise English Channal can be seen! With the sound of a Wren and a Great Tit. Around 8 or so Canada Geese are seen flying above me heading west, as a singular Swift swoops around. I spot what looks to be tall Birds-foot Trefoil, but seems different somehow, I put the Obsidentify App on it, this suggests Dyers Greenweed instead. Lastly, whilst doing the weather recording our Ex-Head Ranger reported a Crossbill sighting – Keep your eyes pealed for these colourful birds.
