A wet grey morning envelope the park this morning as I head down long meadow. Cowslips are loosely scattered throughout the meadow, there yellow flowers bringing some well needs colour to the dull morning. Blackthorn once covered in bright white flowers is starting to go over the bright white dulled to a like brown colour. A long Robin sings from the top of a Blackthorn looking rather wet. Dogwood is starting to come into the blossom at the end of the path, the bright white flowers with yellow centres causing the branches to sag.
In the woodland the wind whips the canopy into a frenzy, while rain drops down from water laden leaves. New leaves on Harts Tongue Fern are starting to emerge and slowly unfurl themselves. Ramsons cover the woodland floor some just starting to flower. The star like flower towering above the low-lying leaves.
Towards the end of the woodland, Lesser Celandine replace the Ramsons carpeting the floor, the sunshine yellow flowers popping up all over the woodland floor. Blue Bells are in flower, the purple bell like flowers catching the eye as you pass. Daffodils white bright yellow centres and light-yellow petals are in full bloom throughout the Hydrangeas.
Heading back up the coast path, passing some parkrun volunteers setting up for their easter weekend event. I pass a Bay Tree covered in small pale yellow fluffy flowers, with the sweat scent of the leaves filling the air briefly as I pass it.
Heading back to the Learning Centre to escape the rain and wind I pop into the bird hide to see only a couple of Black Birds pecking round the bottom of the feeders.
