A beautiful sunny spring morning, with park run volunteers rushing around setting up for this morning’s event. I make my way down past the castle towards the glass observation point accompanied by the twinkling chatter of Goldfinch in the trees alongside the path.

Guillemots bob about on the water below, with two Razor Bills just off to the side of the large raft. The sound them preening and chattering floats up on the light morning breeze. Two Fulmars are showing off as they swoop elegantly in and out of the cliffs.

I continue further along to see the ledge about half full of Guillemots, emptying further as half of them leave in a stream of black and white frantic wing beats. My attention is taken away from the ledge by two passing Kestrels unusually swooping along the cliff top. One turns around coming land on an outcropping above Tilly Whim ledge. Turning around to watch the other swoop past again, I then turn back to lose the other, as it blends seamlessly into the cliff.

Scurvy Grass can be seen covered in tiny white flowers almost carpeting the bank at the bottom of the gully. As the sea crashes into the rock face below.

Above the light house a male Stonechat stands proud on the top of a Blackthorn, red chest and blast cap on full display. A female perches on a lower branch just below the male. Meadow Pipits fly past overhead.

Admiring the view from the top of field 10, I watch a Skylark dart across the top of the gully belting out its song as it goes. Down into Oxeye where Cowslips are popping up and starting to flower throughout the field.
