A beautiful sunny morning illuminates the park this morning. Even with the bright sun there’s still quite a chill in the air. On caravan terrace the Primrose and Gorse are in full bloom adding a splash of bright yellow and brightening the morning even more. Below the bridge Great Tits hop around the branches of a Willow covered in fluffy buds.
Two Fulmars gracefully swoop in and out of the cliff, the early morning sunlight lighting up their mottled grey backs. On the water Guillemots form a loose raft on the water a couple of Razor Bills hanging around the edge of the raft their darker plumage making them stand out.
Jackdaws burst from the top of the cliff as one large flock and head towards the light house and come to rest as one a little further down. The gurning noise of Guillemots on the ledge below can be heard on the path below. 11 Guillemots squeeze on to the large rock on the ledge, some cling to the edges of the ledge as they jostle for space.
Heading up the diagonal path keeping an eye out for sunbathing Adders, though I don’t spot one, perhaps when it warms up, they will appear.
In the shaded areas along the edge of Oxeye meadow a light frost clings to the grass. The ever-changing song of a Song Thrush can be heard over the meadow. Heading through the gate I spot the speckled chest of the bird in questions perched atop a Blackthorn
The sound of Skylarks singing over the meadows fills the air as I head back towards the Learning Centre.
