Heading out through south field a, three Meadow Pipits pass over head, I can just make them out through the branches of a bare Ash Tree. Rustling in the scrub behind the Ash indicate another bird hiding, though it doesn’t make an appearance the sound of a Robin singing floats up out of the scrub. As I head through the field, I look for Pied Wagtails, as nearly every day this week walking through this field, I have seen 2 -3. Though of course now I’m looking for them, they are no where to be seen.

Another dull grey morning with the remanence of fog still hangs around on the north side of the park. The ground now saturated with water, squelches under foot making me very thankful for my wellies. I squelch my way over to yesterday’s fire sight, in the corner of the field to check all is okay, I’m glad to see it is and has burnt down to almost nothing.

Heading into Saxon the Hereford Cattle were noticeable by there absence. Though as I head through the field a loud MOOO! And the sound of a cow crashing through some scrub gives there location away. As the cow emerges from the thick Blackthorn covered in fluffy Old Mans Beard, it seems surprised to find me on the path, and quickly heads back towards its friends.

Along the drove rustling directly over my head from a Blackthorn covered in Ivy catches my attention. I look up to come face to face with a tiny Wren, who them promptly retreats into the safety of the Ivy. A Great Tit bursts out the tree to my right over my head and into the scrub the other side of the path.

Heading back to the Learning Centre through light house field, the sea can be heard crashing into the bottom of the cliffs from up at the top of the field on the road.
