A dark foggy morning cloaks the park this morning, though the worst of the rain seems to off subsided. Heading out through south field I can hear birds calling from all around though the fog makes them hard to see. I do manage to see the silhouette of a Black Bird perched on the top of some Blackthorn. On seeing me it flies off in normal Black Bird dramatic fashion. Over head the outlines of two birds come speeding past before disappearing over the other side of a wall, the quick glance they allow me they appear to be Skylarks.

Several Robins perch of branches sticking out from the main clump of scrub along the walls in oxeye, all belting out a tune, before rushing back inside the safety of the scrub as I pass. At far end of the field perched a wall a rather bedraggled looking Raven looks out of the gully.

Down in the gully bright green Lichen smothers the bare branches of Blackthorn, the bright green standing out amongst the dull back drop. The brightly coloured plumage of Jay catches the eye as it hurries between to trees below. Rose hips shine, like red ruby’s covered in rainwater glinting up from below.

Yarrow in full flower, the bright white cluster of tiny flowers brightening the dull morning, as the plant sticks out of the long grass. A Hawksbeard nearby also adding a splash of yellow to the dull morning though the flower is now looking a bit worse for wear.

Heading back to the centre the sun is just starting to burn through the morning fog.
