First day at work for September and meteorological autumn after a week on leave and one braces the chillier and fresher conditions of the season, but it isn’t raining which is a nice surprise. As I walk towards the learning centre I notice a Kestrel hovering for its next meal, and a wood pidgin swooping the car park.
I walk beside long meadow and noticed the long grass has been bundled into hay bells. I look left and notice the ripened blackberries on Bramble – so I feed on a couple – very sour however, and mixed with the minty taste of toothpaste. As I continue to walk the sound of a Carrion Crow could be heard as well as a magpie, while a Robin was spotted looking back at me and the sound of a Great Tit and Chiffchaff call.
I walk straight down into the pleasure ground woodlands – looking out to sea and at Peveril Point – words could not describe how beautiful this scenery is at around 08:15. The condor ferry could be seen hurtling along the English Channel, whilst Swallows swarm the sky feeding before their great flight back to Africa.
Within the woodland heard was a Magpie and a Fircrest up singing along on a Holm Oak. Further down, sounds from a Blackbird and many a Robin could be heard whilst the slight breeze whistle between the trees.
I decide to take a walk down the coastal path, a Bumblebee species could be seen even with the cool breeze of early autumn. A few Humans could also be seen braving it out jogging along the coastal path – putting me to shame. As I look left and towards the cliffside I see the purple flowers of Sea Aster increasing the beauty and colour of the scenery, and a Herring Gull swoops down probably looking for a meal.
