It was unusual to be patrolling in the rain. Water cascaded from overflowing gutters; rivulets flowed from the car parks. Near the centre a wet Bumble Bee clung onto the underside or a Teasel head. A solitary unmown Yarrow flower remained at a kerb edge. In places puddles formed and under tree cover was the pitter patter upon leaves was interrupted by occasional leaf overload miniature waterfalls. Only sounds of Blue Tits and Great Tits were heard coming from cover.

Despite my recent leaf litter clearance, a puddle had formed below the bus stop. Another work party task for today!

Enchanters Nightshade showed white flowers beside the Timeline and there were ripened Blackberries too.  Fresh leaf growth was evident upon Holm Oak. Many plant steps drooped thanks to the rain. This included Buddleia, Valerian, which protruded from a retaining wall, as well as Hemp Agrimony which I found at the Caravan Terrace. Today, the Terrace slowly dripped. Euphorbia was amongst the growth upon the Dell Bridge.

At Durlston Head I found the short section of Tamarisk I would cut this morning, to reveal the view! At Durlston Head one Shag perched high up the cliff whist five Cormorants perched on a ledge close to the sea. Before the observation point a sheet web hung vertically between Elm stems. Elsewhere horizontal webs between Gorse caught rain drops. Two Feral Doves departed from the cliff face then a half dozen raced by. Herring Gulls were the only other coastal birds today. Two Fox poos were noted one the coast path, one pile upon the coastal wall capping stones! A few Sea Aster stems were above Tilly Whim tunnel entrance, whilst drips were below.

Upon the gully slope, a few damp Gatekeeper Butterflies flew, below knee leave, despite the rain. A few fluttered amongst dense Tor Grass. Upon the slope some Yellow Wort flowered whereas it had gone over near the coast. Eyebright, Horseshoe Vetch, Knapweed, Dwarf Thistle and Eyebright were all enjoyed. Beside Lighthouse Road were Red Bartsia, Rest Harrow, and a little Common Toadflax.
