A long glimpse of a Fox as it trotted across the meadow, the tan fur reflecting the weak sunlight making it stand out against the pale buff backdrop of clumps of Tor Grass, Yorkshire Fog and Cocksfoot.

In the sky a slither of orange as the sun’s rays squeezed through a gap in the clouds, what a change from yesterday!  The Isle of Wight clearly visible, as was the sea and the tree tops!

A Skylark was singing from high above the fields, another joining on the airwaves, as usual I just had to search the skies for these birds, eventually both were spotted – one a dark dot, the other more recognisable as it floated and hovered nearer to the ground.

The Johnston pond full of water, more than expected as I am concerned it has as puncture, be interesting to see.  Singing from the Blackthorn scrub at its edge was a Great Tit – ‘see-saw-see-saw’ was the sound it was making today for my ears.

Plants are starting to grow, including the long thin tube leaves of Crow Garlic, a strong pungent smell coming as I trod on them.

Off to the cliffs where a Peregrine Falcon slowly floated past, barrel chested with pointed wings and two different coloured grey feathers, swooping up then down before disappearing around the corner.

On the water 50 auks, bobbing Guillemots and 16 Razorbills, of these a definitive 6 pairs, the bonding obvious as they floated together beaks tapping.

On the ledge more Guillemots while Fulmars and a Shag also in flight.
