A very wet foggy morning, the rain unrelenting the whole way round my morning walk. I head for the more shelter of the woodland making my way along long meadow. Despite the weather one brave Robin pops out the shelter of the scrub to belt out his song. Further along the chattering of Goldfinch catches my attention, I spot them hopping amongst the Lichen covered branches of a Blackthorn. Their red and gold markings on there head making them stand out about the dull green and brown of the branches. A long Spindle stands out against the scrub around it with its bright green foliage and hot pink flower buds poised to open any time soon.

At the bottom of sunny dale, the sound of the stream rushing through fills the air. At the corner of the beds, I spot a small patch of Snow Drops just starting to flower, by the weekend they will be in full bloom. Daffodils are sprouting everywhere soon to be a wonderful display of bright yellow flowers. Along the edge of the path near the stream Flowering Heliotrope is showing small white bell like flowers.

Heading back up the coast path, the sound of rain drops dripping through the canopy above. To the side a Japanese Laurel has a wonderful display of bright red berries. Now to head back to the office for a tea and to dry out.
