An overcast dull morning, with the sun trying hard to peak through the cloud cover. A light breeze rustled the leaves atop Holm Oaks. Movement in a Hawthorn catches my attention to a Jay hopping among the branches, the blue streaks down the side of its wings tucked in catch the bit of sun poking through making the bird stand out in the dull brown branches.

Walking through the woodland Ivy snakes its way up Sycamore trees lining the path, the trees bare in the winter the Ivy almost giving the impression of a full canopy. Bright green Spindel bushes adorned with flower buds bursting at the seems to flower, bright pick petals peeking through the light green casing.

Below the caravan terrace bridge two Wrens peck around in the dirt looking for breakfast. Above fluffy white Old Mans Beard drapes over Blackthorn like fluffy garland. Out to sea a flock of approximately 10 Guillemots fly in a V formation low over the water heading towards the light house. Tiny wings flapping frantically to keep the birds in the air and not crashing into the water below.

At the glass observation point I observe 3 Fulmars arcing in and out of the cliffs, admiring how they fan their tails and brace their webbed feet just before they crash into the cliff using them like a break. On the water more than 50 Guillemots sit on the water more crashing into the water around them periodically. Some preen themselves while others are simply taking a break on the water. Above them the ledge is crowded, the sound of birds arguing and jostling for space floats up on the light sea breeze.
