Last night Katie saw a shooting star, possibly part of the Geminid shower. This morning, my village’s Christmas lights were informed there was enough daylight for them to go to rest. Meanwhile, the town lights pleasantly twinkled on.

A rising sun glowed over the saline horizon whilst a Magpie looked on near the Learning Centre. A wooden sign, place amongst a Hawthorn declared “Lots of Love” … Blackbirds were active about the fringes of Long Meadow, whilst a light breeze rustled Holm Oak leaves. Sunlight reflected of the Durlston Head interpretation panel. From the Dell bridge bright lights were noted upon a vessel off Old Harry Rock. Upon a Bramble tendril, itself held in place by a Buddleia, perched a Robin which sang over the Reynolds bench. Shortly it was landed upon the bench and then a Chaffinch joined ii nearby upon a moss wearing north facing dry stone wall. I then experienced what was to be the first of three-fly past by Racing Pigeons. From Durlston bay came gentle rumbling boulder rolling sounds. Upon Caravan Terrace, only leaves on Primrose were seen, yet the rock face dripping justified being called a waterfall. Droplets splashed regularly into several shallow pools upon the Limestone. From the floor beside the Noon seat, a pair of Carrion Crow ascending. The trio of Wood Pigeon in the Sycamore nearby remained. Off Durlston head an immature Guillemot, was seen upon the sea with two silvery fish line creatures in its beak.

I admired the substantial Tamarisk cutting back that had been completed below the Globe. On the verge fresh leaves of Greater Periwinkle and Hypericum were noted. Another morning brought Fulmar flight, I too managed to watch one take off from below the Observation Point. Further west where another Fulmar perched high on the cliff face, a flying Fulmar arched in close the perching one, but then “bounced” off the cliff again. Off the cliffs a linear raft of a dozen Guillemot sat upon the sea. Amusingly, another bird flew down to join them, but it appeared to attempt the land in a “standing up” stance, upon the water. Splash! Before reading the weather a pair of Blackbirds harvested Haws from branches. Nearby Great Tit, and at least a pair (surely more nearby) of Long Tailed Tits, were active.
