A small flurry of snow greats me this morning, though it soon changes to a light drizzle. I head down long meadow where the bright red stems of Dog Wood are eyes catching against the dark greens and browns on the surround scrub. Further along Hawthorns covered in berries create the same eye-catching effect.

Over head a large flock of Wood Pigeons fly in formation over the tree line and disappearing down the hill into town. In the woodland I spot some log edging along the play trail covered in a beautiful display of Tukey Tail Fungus. Stinking Ivy lines the edge of the trail provides pops of orange colour with there brightly coloured berries. A Robin can be heard singing loudly from within a Holm Oak off to the side.

Above the globe the chattering of Goldfinch catches my attention coming from within some scrub. One pops out of the scrub briefly, easily recognised with its gold markings. Heading down towards the glass observation point a cold braces wind starts to pick up. Below the waves crash into the bottom of the cliff relentlessly. Two Herring Gulls silently sore past at eye level.

The familiar silhouette of a Peregrine Falcon comes in to focus as its flies along the cliffs edge coming from the light house, it soars out to see before retuning back the cliffs and disappearing round the corner towards the light house. Heading up the diagonal path I spot of the Peregrine again as it soars over my head towards the castle ducking down as it reaches the other side and out of sight.

A lot of the surrounding Gorse is in flower the bright yellow standing out against the dark green of the Gorses foliage. From within a clump a Stonechat can be heard though it does not make itself seen.
