As I began by walking through the meadows the sound of mooing filling the air.  The Herefords are in the back fields, and will be moved again soon, so please remember to close the gates.  Taking flight from amongst the hooved were Jackdaws, their dark black caps contrasting with the pale grey of their heads.

Along a hedgerow a single Chiffchaff was spied.  This warbler fluttering from one Blackthorn branch to another, stopping to inspect the bark for items for breakfast along its way.

In the field opposite a couple of flowers of Wild Carrots still blooming white, the only flower to be seen.

Taking the route towards the downland, a flock of Goldfinches landed amongst the Hawthorn, this tree still laden with dark red haw berries.

Two Bullfinches were calling to each other, the squeaky call alerting me to their presence and some time spent waiting for one to emerge, eventually a bright pink male stood above the bush line of Old Man’s Beard and Wild Madder for a fleeting moment.

Bright yellow flowers of Gorse scattered across the downs, also strange how only a few of the bushes have flowers on at a time, but throughout the year you can always find some flowers to brighten the day!

Popping up, seemingly randomly across the Park are Fungi.  Many different species including the Shaggy Parasol, Field Blewitt and Parrot Waxcap.

Down to the cliffs where the sea was churning, a mass of white crests rolling above the grey water, crashing at times into the Portland limestone cliffs causing a wonderful spray of water.

On the cliffs, a few Guillemots were standing upright on their ledge, the white fronts turned to the sea as they inspected the area after a few months at sea.
