A cold breeze whips around the park this morning meaning I pull my buff up round neck. A Wren darts across the path disappearing into a hawthorn. The wind blows leaves across the path while over head a large flock of Pigeons zoom across the top of the woodland. The very top leaves of Dog Wood have turned a deep purple colour fading down to green near the bottom of the tree.
Walking through the woodland leaves crunch under foot, a few leaves cling to the very ends of branches on White Poplar. Stinking Iris provides pops of red along the edges with its clusters of berries.
At the Dell Hydrangeas can be seen in flower though they look like they may go over any day now. A Squirrel pops out to sit on the timeline to enjoy a discarded apple core, it sits nibbling its breakfast for a while before spotting me and running off.
Hawthorns line the road down into the light house field covered in deep red berries. Shiny red rose hips look like jewels pocking out the top of Blackthorn. Small flocks of Goldfinch bounce across the top of the scrub joining up to form one large flock. A Raven soars silently over the top of the gully.
Ragwort can be seen in flower the bright yellow flowers making them stand out. Large flocks of Meadow Pipits make their way over the gully.
