Dog Wood leaves are turning a wonderful mixture of purple, red and yellow. Squirrels run up trees in all directions as I enter the woodland as if being caught doing something they ought not to do. As the sun rises over the sea the rays bouncing of the still sea blind.
In the dell Red Admiral Butterflies flitter in all directions all seemingly in a hurry this morning. at the bottom Fuchsias are still adorned with bright red trumpet like flowers. Carrying on round past the globe the chattering of Blue Tits can be heard coming from a Tamarisk. While along the cliffs a Raven soars level to the top surveying its surroundings. Further along I spot it again sat below the observation point shouting at the top of its lungs before it takes off and lands on top mile marker while the bottom one is also occupied by a Raven.
The Tamarisk surrounding Tilly Whim caves is full of Chiffchaffs bustling around looking for food before they make, they long journey to there over wintering home. Rock Pipits hurry out the way as I continue down the coast path, driving over the wall in dramatic fashion.
Making my way up the gully, two Roe Deer spot me and watch me carefully until they are sure I’m no threat. A couple of Stone Chat stand proud atop their respective scrub patches and sing for all to hear.
At the top a Kestrel can be seen resting on a Holm Oak branch. While a large flock of Goldfinch bounce there way over the top of gully coming to land in a large patch of Blackthorn.
Popping into see the bird ringer who report a busy morning, having ringed lots of Chiffchaffs, a few Fire Crests, Gold Crests and Black Caps.
