Heading towards the large copse Bracken can be seen bursting its way through the thick grass. While above the Elder is starting to burst into flower. In the woods Garlic Mustard is in full bloom, while Stingy Nettles are taking over the woodland floor.

The sun is warm on by back as I walk through taskers, but the cold wind cuts through the warmth of the sun. Birds-foot Trefoil snakes its tendrils topped with dainty yellow flowers, through the grass. Near the gate I spot Adders Tough Fern is easily identified by its name’s sake, the adder’s tongue like green spear coming out of the main body of the leaf. Three Skylarks chase each other over the meadow one diving bombing the other, while in the background I can hear another singing.

In Saxon I find the cows all clumped in one corner all lying down chewing the cud, a Jackdaw land on one’s head and wonders up and down the cows back, the cow seems completely unfazed by its new companion. Heading through a gap in the scrub I can hear a Stonechat coming from somewhere within the scrub. Off to the site three Bluebells can be seen still in flower.

I wonder through oxeye to see Flax gently swaying in the breeze, small pale blue flowers standing out against the green. Yellow Rattle and Common Sainfoin add yellow and bright pink colours to the colour palette of the meadow. In the middle of the field the first of the meadow name’s sake can be seen in flower, tall Oxeye Daisies tower over the grass with the bright while flowers helping them to stand out.

Sat at the top of the gully a Bullfinch sits atop a patch of scrub, while above Goldfinch bob along chatting amongst each other as they go.
